Mark A. Kressel
Mark Kressel is an associate at the firm and has handled appellate matters in a wide range of areas, including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the anti-SLAPP statute, punitive damages, general business litigation, and premises liability, for both government entities and private companies.
Mr. Kressel currently serves as the President Elect for the Los Angeles County Bar Association Barristers Section, the new and young lawyers section. He is also a member of the Appellate Rules and Statutes Subcommittee of the Appellate Practice Committee of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section.
Mr. Kressel was recognized by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal as one of its “40 Under 40” outstanding business professionals in 2012.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Kressel was a litigation associate with Irell & Manella LLP. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jay S. Bybee of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Kressel earned his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University, where he graduated cum laude and won the Nathan Holmes Pearson Prize for Best Senior Project. He earned his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, where he served as Comments Editor for The Yale Law Journal. He is admitted to practice in the California state courts, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth, Tenth, and Federal Circuits. He has also practiced before the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Prior to law school, Mr. Kressel worked as a Broadway musician.
